पिछली बैठकी के सम्बन्ध में एक सूचना : अखबार की एक कतरन को प्रस्तुत करते हुए अर्ज है कि इरादे बुलन्द हों तो "आसमाँ में जरूर सुराख हो सकता है"। जो लोग अपने कन्धों पर दी गयी जिम्मेदारी को ईमानदारी से महसूस करते हैं वे विघ्न-बाधाओं से निपटने के रास्ते भी ख़ुद ही खोज लेते हैं । एक आई० ए० एस० ऑफिसर ने ही इस दिशा में जो मिसाल दी है उसने उक्त कथा को लिखने में प्रेरक भूमिका निभाई है । पाठकों की सुविधा के लिए उक्त कतरन की पंक्तियों को दुबारा उद्धृत कर रहा हूँ :

Madurai Feb। 25 : In this era of remote-controlled administration through the Internet, the collector of Theni district has reverted to the days when rulers went around incognito to find out people's problem and evolve quick solutions।Dressed like a farmer or the man next door, Collector P. Muthuveeran has so far visited three firkas comprising over 48 villages in the last three months. Calling it 'makkalainaadi.....maavatta nirvaham ( district administration for the people), the collector selects a firka every month. " People open up their hearts to us, " said an elated Muthuveeran who has just returned from one such visit to Siluvarpatti and surrounding hamlet. After visiting a cluster of hamlets on Tuesday, he halted at a villager's house at Erumainaickenpatti for the night. Before dawn the next day, clad in a dhoti, he stepped into a tea shop and interacted with the villagers." Even before we got up, he went around the streets to check whether the light were burning, " said Erumainaickenpatti president P. Thambithurai. All the 16 diabled persons he met were issued orders for assistance. A wine shop in D. Vadipatti was closed down after complaints from women. During his last visit to Varsanaadu, Mr. Muthuveeran went wearing a lungi to a P.D.S. shop. Even without a ration card, he was able to buy kerosene. " The employee was severely warned and officials keep a tab on the shop now, " Mr. Muthuveeran said.
